Scallabouche 15 Festival

Scallabouche 15 Festival
Since Scallabouche was founded in 2000 improvisation has been a core theme of the companies work. And true to the rules of impro the journey of our company has never been planned and nearly always about the moment. After every new production, and there have been more than 15, there was always a new idea of what to explore for the next step of the story. Over time and with the help of looking back from our current position, clear traits have become evident.
We are always looking to break boundaries and merge lines, the role between audience and actor, between actor and character, between fantasy and reality. Mixing and merging stories so that we keep the audience guessing as we
move from one level of story to another and back again. And I think what we are ultimately always striving to do is to capture that live, spontaneous, danger that comes with improvisation and make it a prevalent force in all our shows,
whether they are text based, devised or in the moment game playing. And why?
Because once the audience know what the story is, it’s no longer a story.
Let’s celebrate together!
Alexis Latham, founder and leader of the company
